yes as of my most recent update i thought my computer could easily be fixed.

not true.

i went through many frustrating situations after realizing this on monday at 540pm.

after spending over an hour at the apple store monday, i knew this, i need to Back up and send my computer off.

easy right?

wrong.

the HD wouldnt work because not enough power was being alloted to it becaus eof the messed up logic board. and if this sounds bad. in thinking up a way to back my files up i discovered that if i hooked my computer up as a HD to the one at work and copied the files that way it completly ruins the desktop you are using as a bridge.

i know this because i totally crashed my computer at work trying. so i spent all day trying to repair it to no avail, finally resulting in a "clean install" for that machine. (wiping HD and reinstalling the entire system from ground up.)

that night i took my powerbook into the apple store and they were going to back up everything for me. sweet!

the next afternoon they call and say there are troubles.

after several phone calls i get all the files i need onto my HD.

or so it seemed.

that night after spending more than an hour at the apple store and having them pull files over manually. i am able to walk out with a back up of valuable files.

and supposedly they are sending my powerbook off to be fixed.

hopefully.

just thought everyone would like an update about that..

invitations, computer frustrations, honeymoon planning oh my!

so the first wave of invitations are done. we sealed well over a hundred today. and they tasted horrible. we tried the wet papertowel meathod. i have used that before, but i wouldnt work for some reason this time. so we ended up having to lick all of them.

gross let me tell you.

why cant they make the glue actually taste good. then people would beg to lick envelopes. they could have live five flavors so each time you licked one it would be an adventure...

so i bought a little hard drive to back my computer up on. but it didnt work i called western digital, the maker, and the guy said that my usb didnt have enough power. i didnt believe him and exchanged it but again it just clicked instead of spinning up. so i guess he was right. so i have to wait for a cable to be sent to me.

ridiculous really, that the HD didnt come with the cable that they know people will need to use it with laptops. so i think i might call them back tomorrow and complain.

and about the honeymoon. arrg i mean could it be any more difficult. i called a travel agent the other day, boy she was really helpful. she was supposed to email me info but didnt... and its so hard because i work all the time that they are open.

Its sunny and beautiful outside...

as you can tell by the picture ( i took it on top of my work you have to click to see it full size) its a beautiful day outside not a cloud in the sky its sunny and blue and 50 degrees.

the bad side is im inside working and my computer is having problems. its not recognizing all the ram, and there possible coould be something wrong with my HD.

yikes.

I called apple care and they recomended i back up asap and do a repair off of the install disk. so im hoping and praying that it doesnt crash here at work.

so its been a delightfully stressful day.

my highlight has been that miriam brought me lunch because its her day off. She warms my heart. She really likes the art of living building. i knew she would. because its very loftish in design.

hopefully we can go see pan's laberynth this weekend that would be great. i have been anticipating that movie for quite a while, since about october i think.

well back to work

the sink at work

so the sink in the restroom at work has a very cool sink in design but not only that as you can see by the photo it looks like a face. everytime i go in there it entertains me so much that i had to go in and take a picture to share the fun.

why do they call it a restroom? i dont go in there to take a nap, or lounge in any way. and everything isnt a "bath" room since there is not a bath in the room especially public ones. i have heard people call it the "toilet" before but it just sounds wierd to get up and "go to the toilet" even though thats exactly what is happening. so it is a perplexing situation.

we could call it the "waste room" it almost sounds like restroom but is more correct.

just something to think about.

close call...

i promise this isnt going to be a constant topic, of me driving to work, but i had a close call today. This guy in a white corolla almost side swiped me. he wasnt paying attention and just kept coming over, so i honked my horn. then to make things interesting we stopped at a stoplight right next to each other. awkward... i could see out of the corner of my eye he was making motions at me probably making amends for almost hitting me...yea ill keep thinking that.

well last night was looong. i cut out invitations all night, except for when my lovely wife to be gave me a break :) i rented crank (crazy wierd movie) and Mallrats, and sat on my couch cutting away. yea i actually dont remember falling asleep but i woke up around 430 and went to bed.

so my computer has been running kinda slow lately and most likely its because i only have 20G left on my HD so im going to purge some of it sometime this week. back stuff up on DVDs. wish i had one of those cool little HDs.

but i dont.


well since im wishing i had stuff, internet and cable at my apartment wouldnt be bad, an new car, honeymoon plans, everything having to do with the wedding planned and sealed... but most of these things will come soon enough.

First Official Post

So i used to have a blog using xanga, it was fun. but it wasnt the best blog site. This one seems a lot better so far. On to better things.

i was driving to work today and saw the craziest thing. it was one of those european smart cars, yea those little 2 person cars. It looked so completly out of place. i mean my car is small but this was less than half the size of mine. there is a picture that i found of some guy named gus standing by one. and yes it really is that small. i was going to take a picture but didnt want to be "that wierd guy" that was talked about around his watercooler.

work is going really good. it had its ups and downs yesterday but i still have fun.

im very tired this morning, i dont think i slept very well. in fact i know i didnt sleep very well. i woke up around 430 and it took awhile to get back to sleep and i kept waking up after that each time glancing at the clock and saying to myself 1 more hour till i have to get up, 45 min till i have to get up and so on. i finally fell back asleep just in time for the alarm to go off. yep great timing huh?

so needless to say im not my usual perky self.

i think im going to rent movies tonight and work on cutting all the paper for our invitations. there are a couple movies i want to see, and miriam is going to be cleaning her apt.

man i need a hair cut.
