dont worry...

im still alive and well

i just havent had time to write at work lately. and since this is my primary source of the wonderous internets, i havent posted. after a rocky end of last week things seem alright. those of you who know the situation rest assured youll be getting updates as they come, those who dont know, call i might tell you.

anywhoo

i have lived her in st louis counting as a whole: 5 months. last summer and now. there is still one thing that bugs/confuses me. do tailgaters actually thing that by getting into the back seat of my car that they are going to pursuade me to go faster?

like im going to say," gosh they must be more important then everyone else on the road, i have to help them get there faster."

nope.

but im amazed at how many people actually think that. and im not one of those people that get into the "fast lane" and go the speed limit.

ill give an example.
this morning im driving to work. there is a car infront of me so im giving it like 2 or 3 car lengths. this woman in an audi charges up on me. she was so close i could describe her face. so where did she want me go? up? i mean im not going to tailgate the car infront of me. she got so close i couldnt see her headlights and we were going 65mph. if i had slammed on my breaks you know what the last thing to go through her head wouldve been? thats right my bumper.

so she cuts off a car in the other lane and rockets off. the irony she got off at the same exit i did and i was right behind her at a stop light. so wow she gained like how much time?

hold on lemme do the math...carry the 2...NONE.

hehehe.

so i got called for jury duty in marion illinois, funny i live in missouri now.
so i have to fax them proof that i live here, like a utility bill. strange. my family has lived in illinois for like 26 or so years and the only person that has had jury duty is my dad, once.

and since ive graduated ive been called twice, once in jackson county and the other in williamson.

funny thing is i couldnt serve either.

my parents are coming up this weekend. thats cool.

my dad has never been to my apartment, so thats exciting. i have to clean.

oh yea did you hear they found jesus' tomb like 30 years ago...

yea elvis was there and so was JFK. they said they had been layin low until the aliens left earth.


as you can see i think it big enough to mention but i dont believe its claims at all. caleb's blog has a list of reading material that is very interesting about the subject.

Happy Birthday Nancy Martin!

on the way to work today i saw a piece of cardboard that had been taped to a stop sign, saying Nancy Martin is 50 years old today. i dont know who she is but hey thats a pretty big thing. i hope that when im 50 someone puts up cardboard signs for me in random places where total strangers see it.

so im constantly dumb founded by the behavior that i witness at gas stations. whether its people that fill up their cars WHILE RUNNING or SMOKING what have you...

today i witnessed not stupidity at the gas station, but sheer disregard for everyone else. a lady drove in front of me and parked like she was going to get gas, she went inside and was in there the entire time i was fueling up, came out and left. so she parked at a pump went inside and did not pump gas. now maybe she went inside to pay first and somehow couldnt...maybe. but somehow i doubt it since she came out with coffee.

so i woke up this morning and my left ear felt "stopped up". you know that feeling you get where you need to "pop" your ears.

yea it was like that only in my left ear...no pain just pressure. i thought it would go away in the show but it didnt. finally its starting to go away now but its still bothering me some. strange sort of freaked me out.

so again happy birthday Nancy Martin. and heres to 50 more!

fortune cookie

so a co-worker of mine brought in a bunch of fortune cookies. i opened mine and found this phrase. as i ate i pondered, is glory really reached by many different roads? i guess this really depends on what kind of glory your talking about.

as i thought about it, the whole statement just seems wrong. and i wasnt sure why. i mean i dont typically use the word "glory" on a daily basis, which is probably why it stuck in my head.

i dont know really where im going with this my brain is a little tired so im not going to make any kind of marvelous deep revelation. just something to think about.

"is glory reached by many roads?"

im finding it difficult to control my frustration as of late. im not sure if stress is just building up or what. i just find myself getting really upset over small stuff. i think work might be part of the problem because the things that im frustrated with at work i feel that i cant do anything about.

there are just things that im going to have to get used to, like putting a lot of time into something and then it gets tossed, or doing designs that i dont actually like.

anyway...
its warming up here is st. louis is actually NICE outside, and there is not eminant danger that your eyes are going to freeze out of their sockets.

miriam and i sent off for our passports last week. hopefully they make it here on time, otherwise that would make our honeymoon a little less warm and beachy.

oh did anyone see the wifeswap last night? man those people from the farm were crazy, no seriously i think they might have needed to be commited. THEY ATE RAW MEAT AND SPOILED THINGS!!! plus they thought water dehydrates you!!!
so tell me that isnt insane.

well... back to work

the ADDY's

so last night the ngage family minus one attended the addy's, which is a advertising award show. it was held at the zoo, which is pretty cool in itself. being at the zoo after hours and all. woudve been even cooler if we were able to actually go into the zoo and play around, but alas that was not to be. plus it was like 5 degrees so it was a little chilly. i thought overall it was a nice show, although i wish i was more impressed. the things that were displayed were good but i expected to be blown away and come away with new inspirations and ideas to make my own design better.

the awards are presented by a video, which was cool except for watching the same 3 commercials like 8 times. im not even joking the audience was growning.

but again this morning its bitterly cold.

ghost rider comes out today, i want to see it. hoefully its as fun as the previews make it out to be.

oh i think its going to be a fun day at work, we are already joking around...it might be because some people are working through hang overs from last night, but im not sure.

Wacky Weather day....

wow so last night it rained

this morning i woke up with rain/sleet/snow

and now is like a snowy hurricane outside.

im not even joking we might be getting several inches before i get off work. which poses the problem of getting home. hopefully the roads will be okay by then.

boy that table and chairs kicked my but last night. i mean its not like i cant put it together, its the parts arent fully cooperating. some are damaged, the wood strips easily. very frustrating.

HEROES was good last night. not the best episode, but still good. i knew that jessicas next target would be nathan. hes too connected. im kinda curous because they never SHOW her killing anyone. maybe its not what everyone thinks. i dont know i mean even if she had superhuman strength why would that guy have been so scared, like he was horrified. also even if you factor in strength, ripping a person in half wouldnt be that easy. youd need a blade or something sharp because he was pretty clean for getting his torso ripped in twain.

well back to work...

weekend in Carbondale...

so miriam and i went to carbondale this weekend. it was enjoyable to see my family not to mention the free stuf we got. she had shower thrown for her.

i had many interesting thoughts this weekend with no real chance to post.

1. on saturday as a waited at a red light, a blind guy was walking accross the street. ive never really thought about it but its pretty amazing that people can use that cane and go about the world. i mean i stumble around in my apartment when the lights are off, and he goes through carbondale.

then i began to think about how we go through life trusting our eyes more than God. we have that whole see it to believe it thing, that we cant ever get past. This guy never has had that. he has to soley trust that cane to interpret that world so that he can "see" where to go. i wish that i had that much faith, i try to but i always faulter.

also i bet that guy has a really low electric bill, he would never have to use lights at night. just a thought.


2. what happened to all the catchy jingles? companies used to all have songs that would get into you head and stick with you forever. but no one uses them any more.

"gimme a break, gimme a break, break me off a piece of that KIT KAT BAR..."

i mean i STILL remember that one and others randomly pop in my head all the time. i think that as annoying as they were people still responded to the ads. so i think that companies should bring them back.

another visit from the tech fairy...

first off let me introduce to the world to....the unofficial NGAGE mascot...AXEL.

he likes long charges on the carpet, stomping his foot, and being turned on. he's black about 5 inches tall and 11 inches long. he is a lively bachelor, you can meet him on top of nathans computer.


speaking of computers, my work station went caput this morning. i installed the newest updates and it went crazy. so yet again im on my laptop at work. but this time i didnt do ANYTHING to it. it messed up all by itself. im pretty sure that it needs major attention this time though, a clean intall would just bide our time. i was able to save all the info by hooking the tower up to my laptop. which was a big relief.

so last night miriam and i went to the pet store and looked at all the cute puppies. big ones, small ones, brown ones, white ones, short, tall, ugly, cute, and one with a worm coming out of its butt.

yes thats right.

we quickly informed the lady working there and she was shocked. i would have been too, in fact i was. i find it interesting because right then the man behind the counter was assuring a woman that all there dogs have had 2 rounds of shots, are to full health standards and have been wormed at least 2 times...ironic that the poor miniature schnauzer

the more that i think about it, the more i wonder if i should report it to the ASPCA. But i guess it was just worms, dogs get those, but i have never scene it in a pet store.

miriam and i are getting a table and chairs tonight. we have been looking at this set since december and it finally has gone on a major sale. so thats pretty exciting.

hopefully my day starts to get better after i install some softeware so i can work.

so on the way to work...

i saw the most awsome display of the rare species truckness ridiculi it pretty much looked like the pic i found but black. this thing was massive. i look out my drivers window and all i see is TIRE im not even kidding. he guns it and spews thick black putrid smoke all over my car. he is the absolute embodiment of an oil companies wet dream.

yea that last bit was a bit crass, i apologize...sort of.

but still, i wonder if that thing came with a spitoon instead of cupholders.

yup i am.

it sort of bothers me when with the way companies are trying to make the most fuel economical vehicles there are people who go out of there way to do the absolute opposite.

plus everything is not ok with my computer... more to come as it develops

hopefully good news

i think i might be getting my computer back today. i just checked the repair status on my powerbook and it said that it was on the truck for delivery. this would make me so happy! also miriam is coming home today!!!

i rented robocop last night and watched it instead of the superbowl. if that makes me boring too bad, nothin else was goin on so there! plus robocop ROCKS MY FACE OFF! such a classic. except fot the third one... that movie doesnt even exist to me. HORRIBLE.

my mom came up on sat. that was nice. we went around looking for places to have the rehearsal dinner. we went to like 8 places. we have 3 possibilities. but it was nice just to spend the day with my mom. its been so cold here. its -8 with the windchill today. with a high not even above freezing! brrrr


GLAD GAME: putting on jeans fresh from the dryer, seeing how high i can bounce a bouncy ball, watching cartoons from my childhood, cheesecake, that old book smell, tickling miriam, wearing my suit, looking at the old buildings in st louis, looking up and reading random facts, being the first to knife out fresh peanut butter, watching stupid online videos and laughing, smiling, quoting movies at random times that just feel right, and that feeling of accomplishment.

so its cold.

very cold. It snowed around 2 inches last night. as you can see from my pick the beautiful blue sky from the other day is now grey and gloomy and snowy.

i was thinking today that i really want to watch the robocop movies again. i should rent those.

wonder if i could find the sci fi movie that came out a couple years back. what was its name....meltdown, or something. i remember they made a second robocop, he had 2 guns and was his ex partner.

as i remember it was a pretty cool flick.

wonder if i could get someone to DL it for me.

my headphones are to short to be comfortable, i mean they plug into the por on the tower but its on the floor, so i have to lean to my left to listen,

im hungary... did i spell that right? hungery no i guess thats how you spell it.

i miss my powerbook.

i dont have iphoto on my computer at work its odd. i dont know why its not on here. i thought that was a pretty standard app.

yep...still hungery.

oh i almost hit a car today. i was doing what i was suppposed to, giving extra room because of the weather, well someone cut in front of me and then slammed on their brakes. my locked up, but i stopped about 3 feet from their bumper. it upset me. because i didnt do anything wrong.

people arent nice. most people are i guess but the few who arent taint the populus.
