"New details about how Josh Hancock spent the last hours before his death. A West County man tells FOX 2 he saw Hancock at the bar at Mike Shannon’s downtown and he appeared to be drunk. We tried to talk with the restaurant manager, Pat Shannon, but were told she was not available. Published reports quote Shannon as saying Hancock declined an offer for a cab. Shannon also declined to say if Hancock consumed alcohol at the restaurant."-fox news
"New revelations about the crash that killed St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock Police sources tell FOX 2 News marijuana was found in Hancock’s rented Ford Explorer. Witnesses say Hancock was drinking at Mike Shannon’s bar before he slammed into a tow truck on Highway 40 early Sunday morning. Hancock was in a crash just days earlier in Sauget, Illinois." -fox news
this i think is another case where the press and or police do not want to tell the truth. if this had been any other person they would have already released why they crash and in the initial report they would have said the driver was believed to be drunk. this has been going on for a week now. the press are acting like its a "mystery" of why he ran into a parked flatbed tow truck with lights flashing, but everyone else on the road was able to safely drive around. i think that this is an attempt to protect "cardinal nation" from the truth that it was completely his fault. lets look at the facts:
people say he appeared to be drunk.
he declined a cab. (cabs are only offered to visably drunk people, bars have to do this)
it was nearly 1 am
he hit a tow truck with bright flashing lights.
we didnt even brake.
and to add to it pot was found in the car.
i think that this is a terrible thing for a person to die in a car accident but lets face it, 3 other people in the last week have have died because of traffic related accidents and they are not getting the same treatment. it is sickening to me to see how much the media loves to drag things on for ratings, just letting information trickle out instead of reporting and letting it drop.
plus his beloved team the cardinals is going to honor his memory in the best way they know, capitalizing on it. that right making money. there season schedule/magazine is going to have a big memorial in it for him, which they start SELLING next week. this will make them sell out for sure, and the news made sure to give that detail out.
Josh Hancock gets laid to rest today, so im sure that the results on his autopsy will come out within three days, just long enough to carry into the next week.
